OPERATION PUMPKIN

Tonight was Operation Pumpkin. This is a charity event held to benifit The Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home. Local doctors, dentists and vets gather to carve very elaborate pumpkins. Most of the doctors plan in advance, bring in assistants, surgical instruments and add ons. It was a huge success. Neil of course was the auctioneer, Andy helped catch bids and our friend Ed was the ringman. Neil sold 15 pumpkins for a total of $13,000. Money that will be use to clothe the children for the next year. Cafe Central provided the space and the food which was great. My neice Renee Tanner who runs the children's home also had a birthday cake for Neil.

Neil and Andy doing their thing.

Ed with Scarecrow brain surgeon by Dr Masel sold for $3,000.

Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer by Dr Tabor sold for $3,100.

Graveyard by Dr Harvey sold for $1,100.

Its great that they get so much money but it is funny how when you mix people, booze and a little ego, how high they will bid.

The funny thing of the evening. They also raffle of items. My friends who are in their 70s won a $25 gift card at a baby store. I told them they need to get busy. We did have fun.
