STORMING THE BASTILLE

Almost 3 weeks ago several friends of mine and I stormed the Bastille. What that means is it was high time we got back to our program of eating right, exercising and taking care of ourselves body and soul. For me it meant taking charge of my diet which as been heavy on fat and carbs. It is not easy to cut the fat because I am a meat eater. It also means coming up with meals that fit into my eating plans but also satisfy Neil.

Notice I said eating plan and not diet. I am not going on a diet because I know from past experience it will not work. And if I want pizza...I want pizza even though it gave me terrible heart burn yesterday.

For exercise I am using the treadmill. I am up to 60 minutes at 3 MPH with the incline set on 2 what ever that means. I have also added some upper body training with weights and some core work. Today my core is very sore so it must be working. I listen to audio books for the first 30-40 minutes of my walk. Right now it is The Chase by Clive Cussler. Music gets me through to the end. I have included a few of my favorite walking songs. Hope you enjoy them. If nothing else my tasts are eclectic.

If you wish to follow my progress, the stats are to the right. I have by the way lost 4.5 puunds and an ince in the waist. Yea for me.

Another One Bites the Dust ---- Queen

Footloose----Kenny Loggins

God Bless Texas----Little Texas

Good Directions and Turnip Greens----Billy Currington

I Love Rock and Roll----Joan Jett

Of course! I just didn't know you were a rocker chick. I thought you pretty much just listen to country.

Talk to you tomorrow. :D

I only started listening to country the last couple of years. I think because most of it has the closest sound to old time rock and roll. Through the years there have always been songs I liked. It is just that all the screaming is not music to me. I want a fantastic beat and words I can understand so I can sing along and annoy Neil with my terrible voice.

Great workout music! I have that Joan Jett song on my exercise music list, too. I am not listing my stats. Some days I don't walk at all, but I am trying not to miss too many. I think you guys are very brave for posting your stuff. It surely inspires me.

I figure if I tell everyone what I am doing I will keep with it. We will see if it works.
