MOUNTAINS

A friend on mine...B you know who you are...shared a beautiful picture on the mountain she gets to look at every morning on her way to work. Since we were going to take a drive through our mountain pass I thought I would share ours. We were traveling from West El Paso where I live to Northeast El Paso.

You will notice the cluster of houses at the bottom of this little hill, well my house is in that cluster somewhere. Now notice the pall of smoggy gunk in the back ground. Well that would be our "friendly" neighbor to the south, Juarez the murder capital of Mexico. Thank you so much for sharing your violence and pollution with us. Why don't you ask us for more money "good" neighbor. OK enough...that is for another blog.

This next picture is coming down the other side of the mountain. Notice how much better the air quality is on this side of town. And we are suppose to be the exclusive side of town, LOL. This side of town is where most of the military is located.

These last 2 pictures are a view of the mountains coming home. While they have interesting shapes, they are covered with nothing but ugly scrub grass and cactus. I would like pine trees but I guess in the desert that would be asking too much. If we get a lot of rain (not often) they will turn a little green.

I've seen that before. Maybe I'm weird, but I think your environs are beautiful. In an "other worldly", "walking on the moon", kind of way. :)
Then again, I don't live there full time. I just come for visits... maybe if I had to see it every single day I would miss green too. You are always welcome to come here for a visit. We have lots of green stuff here. And plenty of "good Georgia pine".

I especially liked the first picture, Pam. Reminds me of where my dad lives in the Nevada desert.

The last picture actually reminds me of a few places here. Awww, I can pretend that we live close by. :D

Nice pictures! It's interesting to see a different area of the country.

Nice pics! Wish I had such beautiful scenery where I live. But when you're so close to the city, there's not a whole lot of nature to behold.

They have a beauty to them even though there is no greenery. We have lots of green stuff here in Kentucky, too.

Hi Pam!

I think these maybe the first photos I've ever seen of Texas! LOL Heard San Antonio is very beautiful, is it quite close... Texas is a pretty big state...

Chaki we are in a different world then San Antonio. It is about 700 miles from us and is green. SA is a great place to visit. Lost of interesting sites to see and things to do.
