OCTOBER

I feel like I am neglecting my blog but life has really been boring lately. This is October though and things always start picking up in October. Sunday we are doing a charity auction for the Congregation B’nai Zion Sisterhood. They have gathered a lot of wonderful donations so we should be able to raise some money for all their good works. It will also be fun. When our livelihood is not dependent on the auction, Neil turns into real entertainer.

They only negative: setup for Sunday’s auction starts tomorrow, the same day our new outlet mall opens. I was so looking forward to the grand opening of the mall. It will probably turn out better because we will avoid the mob. Neil does not like mobs or waiting in line. To make up for missing out on the opening Neil took me to Sunland Park Mall and I bought more Fiesta dishes. New colors!! I also checked out the new Martha Stewart collection at Macy’s. Danielle if you are listening there is a really neat spice rack (wood shelf with tins) that would make a nice Christmas present for someone (me).

Also this month we get to do Operation Pumpkin which is for the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home. I will take lots of pictures of this one because it is a blast. Doctors from El Paso carve pumpkins which Neil auctions off. Some of the pumpkins are very elaborate and it is not unusual for them to sell for hundreds of dollars. Of course every doctor wants his to bring the biggest price so that helps. Liquor is also served and that helps!

1. Dad is right. You're insane to want to go shopping at an outlet mall on openning day, or openning month for that matter. That's why God invented the internet; so you can shop without having to rub elbows with the dregs of humanity.

2. Danielle can't listen to a blog. She can read it but she can't listen to it.

Now which one of your sons in the bigger P.I.T.A.?

Sounds like you have lots of fun lined up, Pam. But I have to agree with your son about the mall. I've lived here in Augusta for nearly 10 years and I can count the times I've been to our mall on one hand (and it is a nice, big mall for a town this size). And a grand opening?! Are you into pain, Pam?

I much prefer to do my shopping on-line.

OK I have decided to let Neil off the hook until Monday. We actually plan on going to the Mall often and get to know the managers of the stores. If they have close outs we will be first to buy and then sell on Ebay. Anyway that is our plan.

Thank you for giving your time and effort to helping the Lee and Beulah Moor Children's Home. I read their site, and it sounds like a wonderful organization!!

The children's home is a very good cause and also my niece is the director. We not only have alot of fun but they raise enough money to buy the kids their clothes for a year.
